Through my interviews, I was able to add on to the service to make better. My first interview was with Brandon. He gave me several ways that judge computer recycling programs. He said he focuses on the cost and location near his home. He also explained the time he used the service and the people who took his computer were very rude. Now he will never go back to that program.
Codee was another person I interviewed. He mostly detailed his thought process after the last time he used a computer recycling program. He mentioned that he kept it out of his mind until thinking about threats to his personal information. He liked the convenience factor of the place he dropped off his old computer but realized he might have given up some of his privacy.
Lastly, Giancarlo and I had a conversation about the need for more information about programs that will recycle your computer. He shared his story about when he dropped his computer off it was in a weird location he had never been to before. In addition, the atmosphere of the building he dropped his computer off it was not kept up. He then explained that he does not like the idea of dropping his things at a random facility he knows almost nothing about because the trust is not there.
Conclusion:
It seems to be that alternative evaluation is done based on three factors. The first is quality of the program. All interviewees shared that want to drop their computer off in a building that looks kept up. This gives the program a sense of professionalism. Second, the location of the program needs to be in an easy to access location. Otherwise, a pickup service would also help. This also adds to where an individual can get the service. Most programs only have dropped off options that’s why the location aspect matters. With a pickup service attached to the program will help give the ability for more people wanting to use the program. Third, the price must be reasonable. No one wants to pay an arm or a leg to get rid of their computer.
When an individual thinks about using a computer recycling service after they have used it they worry about their information being put in the wrong hands. They want to know for certain their private financial information is not stolen. To fix this problem they should be able to track online the stages the computer is being recycled.
Hi Trenton,
ReplyDeleteI completely agree in that location is one of the biggest factors in your business. I think having a good location is a primal function for any retail or service business. My interviewees also mentioned security as one of the main concerns as it relates to being a customer at my business. It seems as though an assurance of exceptional security is needed for any business to thrive.
Hi Trenton,
ReplyDeleteI think your idea is extraordinary, but I agree that you need to focus on the security of the service because there is so much competition in your field. Keep up the good work!
I love how in your interviews you were able to make changes to your opportunity. You are properly reading your clientele just as you should. I very much agree with your interviewees having a professional well kept building builds more trust. I think the tracking for the recycling is a great idea and I know would make me feel great about the choice I made in choosing one computer recycling place over another.
