Reflection:
I found this assignment easy for the sole reason that this is the way I was taught to look at problems. In early schooling, I was asked to look at problems and brainstorm why they exist. This translated to now when I am asked to analyze why a problem exists I always try to find the deep-rooted cause. For each of the annoyances above, I would first try to think about my interactions with that annoyance. Then I would continue to think about how other people would interact with that annoyance. Many times I did have to stop myself from finding a solution during this activity because I was almost instantly trying to come up with one for each other problems.
The hardest part for me personally was thinking about 20 things that bug me rather than explaining and understanding how they exist. It was easy to find 10 personal annoyances that I face on a daily basis. Then the next 10 seemed to include more societal problems that would take a lot of effort to understand and change.

  2. Hi Trenton, I really your post, it is so detail and impressing. I think your bug list hit a lot of common things for me in my life. I agree with you that waiting in a long line at the grocery store during lunch rush when there are several open registers is kinda annoying. On one hand, they are preventing theft using more self-checkout machine, on the other hand, they want to move faster. Also, I'm totally agree with you that some local towns are closing their grocery store very early every day, and it is very inconvenient. Overall, thanks for sharing your bugs!

  3. Hello Trento, I really enjoyed your bug list as you have many common bugs. I think the one that hit home for me is number 5 the amount of marine life that is dying. I dive often and it breaks my heart to see all the trash stuck in reefs and around the marine life. Sadly there is only so much we can pick up. Oh, and those software updates goodness! i feel like i have one everyday, they are awful! Your bugs were very well thought out and so were your reasons why. I can tel you took your time and put a lot of thought into the core reason of why each of your bugs exist. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Hi Trenton,
I can definitely relate to the last bug on your list. There are a lot of forced updates and they make it impossible sometimes to turn it off. I also think it's great that you were taught to be able to identify common problems and think of ways to fix it. A lot of successful people share these similarities and it seems like you already have an idea on how to implement them.
